This is the end of- NO! Wait... This is this the
BEGINNING of "The Terminator: Rewritten IV \ Double Edged
Sword." You can read along with me in your book. You
will know it is time to turn the page when you hear ARNOLD
shout, "I'LL BE BACK!" Let's begin... now! Remember to
turn the page every time you hear the sound. I'LL BE
BACK!

A recent research of records has shown that "The
Terminator: Rewritten" series has thus far 1.) used way
too much alliteration and 2.) has failed to adequately
brief the reader on what has happened at the beginning of
each story. So, while nothing can be done to alter point
one, thanks to that damn Dave... BLAST! I just did it
myself! Anyway, we'll at least fix point number 2. After
having been attacked by a mysterious stranger, Kate
Peltzer's husband, Billy, once thought dead, has returned
after four months absence. After a brief skirmish, they
escaped and had sex. But before they had sex, Billy
revealed that he was sent back to protect the future. The
stranger is a Terminator, a cyborg whose a robot beneath
artificial human tissue, and he's been sent to kill Kate
before she can give birth to the savior of the future
Earth. But, it may be too late! While the Terminator
failed to eliminate Kate and her unborn child or Billy, it
did manage to secure Jason Peltzer from the Chump Towers'

Day Care Center! It's purpose: use him as a bargaining
chip to lure Kate, the baby, and Billy out of hiding to
destroy them in one fell swoop! I'LL BE BACK!

When last we left our intrepid heroes, Batman and
Robin- Billy and Kate had discovered that their child had
been taken by the Terminator. Let's join in now, as Kate
says: "What are you saying?" "I'm saying that thanks to
the ineptitude of Rick MORON ASS here-" Billy thumbed
down at the unconscious comedic thespian. "That robot has
kidnaped our child! And if we don't confront it, it'll
kill him and then come after us!" "We'll have to come up
with a plan." Tune in next time as Billy says:
"PIIIIIIIIIIIIIGS IIIIIIIIIIIN SPAAAAAAAAAACE!" I'LL BE
BACK!

For the past few minutes, the bound scientist worked
to free himself. He had managed to work the chair that he
had been tied to over to the wall. Feverishly working his
bonds against the brick, each movement torture to his
injured kidneys, the friction was gradually building up.
"Must- keep- have to- warn..." With the heat almost
becoming to much to bear, his bonds finally gave way!
Both he and the chair collapsed forward onto the floor.
The strain had been great, and he lay there for a few
moments, gathering his reserves. Massaging his lower
back, he stumbled over to the door of the lab, only to
discover that it was locked! He tried his access badge,
but it wouldn't open. "He must have... changed-" Panting
for breath, he took a screw driver from his lab coat,
removed the security panel, and set about to extricate
himself from the prison that he had been forced into.
I'LL BE BACK!

Jason sat there on the floor, staring at the strange
man in black. He was just standing there, unmoving,
unerring, simply staring at the front door of the lab. He
turned and monitored him for just a moment, his face
unemotional. He looked up as Rand approached. Rand knelt
down and took his stepgrandchild into his arms. He patted
Jason behind the head and studied the stranger. He had
burst in a few scant minutes ago, carrying Jason and a
sawed off shot gun. With the barest of communicative and
verbal skills, he had ordered all the other scientists out
of Rand's research and development cubicle. All, that
was, except for him. The stranger had gently set Jason
down and proceeded to barricade the laboratory door. And
where was Dr. Wright in all of this? He had failed to
report in. The stranger simply stared back into Rand's
eyes as he stared at him. Rand turned away from his gaze,
sheltering Jason further. After a few moments, he looked

back over his shoulder to see the stranger now monitoring
the front door. Ever so quietly, he set Jason down and
cautiously crept over to his network terminal. The
stranger had not seen him! Lightly tapping at the keys,
he entered a distress message to the network sysop. Down
in the network laboratory, the sysop, a strange human and
mechanical combination floating in a tank, started to
relay the distress call to Chump Security. As Rand
continued softly pressing the keys, a black gloved hand
took a tight grip on his shoulder! I'LL BE BACK!

Back on the seventh floor, which, if you will
remember, is a very special number, SWAT team members from
the inexplicably phenomenally popular "NYPD Blue" had been
called in to supplement Chump's security guards. They
were using their unique special weapons and tactics to
their fullest: they were ushering out patrons. Those that
struggled were taken down with special weapons tactics.
The same Chump guard was watching over the staircase
leading up to the eighth floor. A besheveled scientist
ran up to him. "DR. LIGHT!" And this time, it was him,
i.e. Dr. Wright, aka Dr. Light, aka Dr. Ight, and he was
accompanied by Roll and Rush. Panting for breath, Dr.
Wright asked, "Where- where is Kate?" Just as the guard
was about to answer, the scream of a struggling patron
drew their attention. "Um... she and Mr. Peltzer went up
to the day care center on the nineteenth floor." Upon
hearing this, Dr. Wright looked suddenly terrified. He
stared up the staircase, and said, "I'VE GOT TO GET UP
THERE! I have to warn her-" Dr. Wright suddenly dashed
towards the stairs. "Don't try to stop me, cop! I'm a
scientist and I've got a wide array of gadgetry on my
person with which to stop you! So, just try something
funny!" "FEH!" the cop fehed. "Like I'm going to try and
stop you. They don't pay me enough to stop people. In
fact, they don't pay me enough!" Another officer, passing
by, asked him, "You get paid?" Dr. Wright proceeded on up
the stairs, leaving Rush to sniff for survivors and Roll
to help Toxie clean up the blood. I'LL BE BACK!

Up in the day care center, Billy and Kate had been
sitting for the past fifteen minutes in contemplative
thought. Let us listen in for the fruits of their labor:
"Come up with anything?" "No. And you, Kate?" "Well..."
"Yes?" "I liked your insult to Robin Williams better."
Billy was stunned! "Do what?" "I think after 'Hook!'
when you called Robin 'Peter Pancakes' for being such a
fool to take the roll was a better insult than the one you
hurled at Rick Moranis earlier in this episode." BILLY
WAS STUNNED, BUT ANGRY! He rose to his feet. "You mean
that for fifteen minutes that's all you could think
about!? OUR SON IS IN MORTAL DANGER! And if we don't

think of something fast... so could the whole world..."
"Oh, THAT! That was easy. I came up with the answer to
that one right from the start." Billy clenched a fist,
but, oddly enough, refrained from punching Kate. "Then...
why didn't you say so... dear..." "I... misunderstood the
question." "HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD-"
"Anyway, we just go up there and see what happens." Billy
was silent for the longest time. "You mean make it up as
we go along... bluff our way out? Hey, why not?! David
does it all the time when he sits down to type this crap
out! LET'S GO!" I'LL BE BACK!

The pair dashed out into the hallway, only to be
greeted by men with guns! They immediately trained their
weapons on the two, but eventually lowered them with a
heavy sigh of relief. "MRS. PELTZER! JEEZ! You nearly
made us kill ya! What're you doing up here?!" Billy
interjected. "No time for that now! We've got to find
our son!" "That's where we're headin' at this very
moment!" "What?" "He's up here, isn't he?" Kate sighed,
disappointed at not finding a possible lead. "No. He
took off with him somewhere. All we found was Rick
Moranis." The guard's eyes lit up. "Did you say Rick
Moranis?" "Yes." "Then this thing isn't a total loss!"
"What do you mean?" "There's a warrant out for his
arrest. It seems that he's been smuggling exotic plant
clippings into the country, combining them with others and
creating horticultural abominations! His latest bit of
handiwork is some sort of Venus flytrap mutation that
subsists on human flesh and blood!" The guard waved to
his fellow officers. "C'mon, men! He must be inside!"
As he prepared to storm the Chump Towers Day Center ( Is
it just me, or can anyone else appreciate how odd that
must sound? ), one of his men stopped him, handing him a
walkie talkie. "Yes, CC?" After a few moments of,
um-humming, ah-haing, and I seeing, he placed a hand over
the mouthpiece and addressed Kate. "He's doubled back on
us! It seems some stranger dressed in black,
stereotypical if I must say so myself, and I must, has
taken a kid hostage down in Research and Development!
Someone down there sent a distress call over the network.
He said something about possibly creating an invention to
stop him-" Billy and Kate simultaneously looked at each
other. "RAND! Quick everyone! To the Bat Basement!"
I'LL BE BACK!

The group eventually arrived at the door to Rand's
laboratory down in the basement. Kate raced to the door,
and tried to open it. But the heavy metal door refused to
budge. It was as if an all too familiar 248,976-by-4 was
wedged firmly behind da' door. "It won't move!" Kate
began banging her fists on the door, calling out her son's

name. "Jason! JASON!" Her Bangkok banging stopped when
she faintly heard her son's voice behind the heavy steel.
"He's in there, and he's still alive!" She turned to face
Billy. "But, we're going to need some help to get
inside..." Billy put his hand to his chin. "Exactly.
Let me see. We need someone who is out of work, but was
at one time a somebody, somebody big! How about... Adam
West?" "He's dead. You killed him, remember?" Billy was
slightly throttled. "Oh, yes. Of course. It had just
slipped my mind. Then, how about Gordon Jump?" "Already
used him." Billy was slowly growing rapidly irate.
"Hmmm. I don't know... how about..." After a few more
moments of racking his brains, which of course meant
racking his balls, he came up with the perfect answer!
"I've got it! 42! I mean... the perfect ally for this
story..." Billy closed his eyes tightly shut and thought.
Out of thin air, one time heart throb singer but now
forgotten in the mists of time Rick Astley appear. "His
terrible, annoying love ballads will break through the
solid metal, allowing us easy access." Rick stepped up to
the door, took a deep breath, and began to sing. "I'm
gonna lift you up! I'm never gonna let you down!" Within
mere seconds, the steel easy crumbled beneath the stress!
I'LL BE BACK!

With his cameo purpose fulfilled, Rick Astley simply
vanished back to whatever jobless dimension such fellows
of his caliber disappear to. Billy turned to give orders
to the members of his security force. "Wait out here.
We'll try to drive the stranger out here. If we get Jason
away from him, shoot for his head! AND I MEANT THE
STRANGER'S! If he's still got Jason... well, don't!
C'mon, Kate! We've got a destiny to secure!" Holding
hands tightly, they ran through the collapsed door and
dashed into the laboratory. The still stunned Terminator
and Jason stared at the intruders, one happy to see them,
the other not wanting the unwelcome attention. But Jason
beamed. "Daddy!" He held out his arms for his parents,
but his look of joy was soon turned to concern when the
powerful arms of the Terminator wrapped themselves around
him. Turning its back to Billy and Kate, it was between
them and Jason. He then dashed over to a huge door set
into a wall. This was the laboratory safe where Rand kept
his inventions under construction and other samples too
dangerous to have lying around, i.e. they might prove
useful one day. He took hold of the combination knob set
into it with one hand while still cradling Jason to his
ribs with the other. With the speed of a machine, it set
the combination and turned the large tumbler wheel,
opening the safe. It took hold of the handle and threw
the heavy metal door wide open. Clutching Jason by the
collar of his shirt, it held Jason suspended momentarily,
and unceremoniously tossed the child into the safe. It

then just as expediently slammed the safe door shut and
reset the combination lock. It summarily turned to face
Billy. I'LL BE BACK!

Kate was genuinely stunned. "Now, why do you suppose
he did that?" Billy's simple answer was to ignore her
question and dash towards the Terminator. The cyborg bent
slightly forward in preparation for the blow. Billy threw
his shoulder into the Terminator's gut. The pair fell to
one side, struggling with each other as they slid into a
table. A heavy piece of machinery fell off the table and
onto the Terminator's chest. Billy stood up, as did the
Terminator. Billy barely managed to heave the heavy
machine up and bring it down onto the Terminator's head.
Sparks flew from live wires exposed from within the
machine. It responded by punching Billy square in the
chest, sending him flying threw space. One of the guards
outside, seeing that he had a clear shot at the stranger,
disobeyed Billy's order and fired a burst into the
Terminator's chest. The startled machine looked out at
the attacker and saw Kate, unprotected. It started for
her! I'LL BE BACK!

Frantically looking for some sort of weapon, Billy
saw rows of beakers and test tubes, apparently yet another
one of Rand's lunches. He grabbed a flask and tossed it
into the advancing Terminator's face. The glass smashed
and the chemical poured into the gashes on its artificial
face. It reacted violently with the synthetic blood
compound beneath the skin. Blinded, the robot staggered
around, eventually tripping into the broken table and
machinery that it and Billy had crashed into earlier.
Billy took up a beaker and tossed it into the dancing
electrical wires. The chemical caused a short circuit,
resulting in a small explosion that caught the Terminator
up in its full, hellish fury. The robot refused to move,
even as a fire started to break out around it. The flames
eventually engulfed the Terminator, but still the robot
lay motionless. The Terminator had been defeated! Billy
gained 4,032 experience and 215 gold pieces! Billy
leveled up! I'LL BE BACK!

Kate rushed into Billy's waiting arms. The pair
hugged each other tightly, safe in the fact that both
they, Jason, and, sadly, Rand, too, were safe. "Let's get
Jason out of that safe. There might not be much oxygen
inside." They turned and walked towards the safe. A
rattling of metal behind them made them pause, frozen.
Slowly, they turned towards the blazing funeral pyre of
the Terminator. Black smoke, composed primarily of
burning tissue, wafted into the air, heavy with the stench

of carbon and scorched blood. Pieces of the smashed table
fell away, still aflame. Twisted metal wrenched aside.
From a pile of smoldering ash, a huge form arose, like a
Phoenix reborn from the refuse its own demise. The
dancing flames played gleefully against the metal limbs of
the robot that appeared before Billy and Kate. With one
of its metal arms, it threw aside a pipe that had fallen
before it and stepped out of the fire. Billy drew Kate
closer to his stinking chest. "Um, I think Jason will
have to wait for just a little while longer..."

This is the end of "The Terminator: Rewritten IV \ Double
Edged Sword!" Well, if you were wondering whether Billy
was telling the truth about the Terminator, it looks like
he was! But, the fight's not over yet, ala the end of
"Gremlins: Rewritten IV \ Gremlins: Trapped!" The
Terminator still has one more card to play, and the whole
terrible truth behind what is going on will be revealed
next time in the final installment of "The Terminator:
Rewritten," "Judgment Day!" Well, that ending was a tad
bit different... FOR A CHANGE! It's about time!
