ST:TNG Viewer Survey Results
The following is a summary of the results of a survey about ST:TNG that
was taken between January, 1988 and November, 1988.
The survey was taken on Amiga Colony, a bulletin board running in the
Boston, MA area. The BBS caters mainly to Amiga users, though there is
a small message section devoted to Star Trek. The users are mainly located
in the Boston area, but there are quite a few out of state callers as
well (thanks to PC-Pursuit).
Respondents to this survey are predominately (95%) male, and range from
hard core Trekkies to casual viewers. I think that, other than the
low percentage of female respondents, the respondents here represent a
good cross-section of the ST:TNG viewing audience.
One thing to keep in mind is that, since the survey was taken over a
period of 10 months, many responses were probably influenced by factors
such as which episodes were on most recently, and some responses were made
before all of the first season episodes had aired.
This is *not* any kind of scientific poll, but I think the results are
quite interesting...
