Default Partial Solar Powered Fridge

I was thinking about this the otherday...

Solar panels and batteries are too expensive for the average person, but if you did it on a small scale it could be affordable...

It seems that of all the things in the average household a fridge uses the most and it uses the electricity fairly consistently.

So.. Why not use a solar panel to partially power a refrigerator.

Basically run a solar panel to an inverter and then a control unit, which would use as much solar power as possible supplemented with grid power...

No Batteries and no really expensive equipment, other than of course the solar panel, but you don't need a really powerful panel, just slightly...

Ideas? Thoughts?
