Default Debian Wireless

I'm using Debian 4.0 testing at the moment on a Thinkpad r60. My wireless card is the Intel 3945. All of the different methods I see for getting my wireless to work are so confusing. Is there a nice, one way, sure fire way that I can get wireless running?

I just installed Debian 4.0 on my laptop and have the 3945 thingy so I'll let you know if I have any luck.

I'll probably follow this guide:

Ah, looks like a very nice guide. I may do the same. Let me know how it goes for you.

Yeah same, I even let some dude VNC in to see if he could get it going, but couldn't.

Have you got the linux and kernel headers? Got the microcode thing? The regulatory daemon? Yeah I missed those the first few times trying.

I'm going to try again in a few days...

Yeah, so should we swallow our pride or spend another few days on it?

I've got the ipw3945 on my Inspiron 6400, and I didn't have any problems setting it up in Debian.

I believe, but I can't remember, that I used this: http://linux.togaware.com/survivor/Wireless.html

Thanks for the link robinhoody. I'll try that out when I get home. I was mainly having problems getting the ieee80211 working... I never could get it to install correctly. If I have errors when I try this next time, ill save the output of make on the ieee80211 file, and maybe get some help here.
