Stating "You can crack a can by doing thus-and-so" or "If you wanted to change a cell phone's number, you could do it like so" is perfectly OK. Posting passwords, calling card numbers, or credit card numbers is forbidden on this network. Posting such info will get you booted off the net. |

Would you guys please help with a network policy issue?
heres the situation in a nutshell.
I just transferred colleges to the University of Tennessee. On my HP notebook I have nod32 antivirus, and love it.
The sad part is that at UT, their network policy requires you to uninstall any antivirus you have, and load on their mcafee.
Im not sure how, but theyve made it to where when you first connect, it actually will not load the internet until it detects mcafee on your system, and no other antivirus.
please please please tell me there is a way around this. i hate mcafee with a passion. i will be eternally grateful to anyone who can help.

May not be a big help but it is an option:
use VMware and install an operating system their along with McAfee. Use that to bypass their system. load that when you want surf the web. Hey just an option

Why not check and see what it looks for that allows you on the net. Might look for a certain file, have a .dll or something else. Is it an issue of McAffee that is just for UT, or is it the same one you can buy online?

Yeh that's what I was thinking of. Just try and find out what it looks for and fake it.
