Default A question about images on the web

Ok. So I am browsing totse when someone posts the goatse picture.

Does my IP get onto the server that is hosting the goatse image? As if I had viewed the page www.goaste.com/goatse.jpg?

So if someone posts childporn, everyone who loads that thread requests the image from the server who is hosting the image?

I am just wondering if my IP address is being logged on servers which I haven't 'visited'.

Example:

I post this:

http://www.bv229.k12.ks.us/psms/images/happy%20face%20winking.gif

None of you have gone to www.bv229.k12.ks.us, but you have all seen an image that is hosted there.

SO, am I technically visiting sites when someone on totse posts an img tag?

Talking Re: A question about images on the web

Just look at the page source:
Code:
<a href="http://www.bv229.k12.ks.us/psms/images/happy%20face%20winking.gif" target="_blank"><img border="1" width="90" height="90" alt="http://www.bv229.k12.ks.us/psms/images/happy%20face%20winking.gif" src="http://www.bv229.k12.ks.us/psms/images/happy%20face%20winking.gif" /></a><br />
<br />
None of you have gone to <a href="http://www.bv229.k12.ks.us" target="_blank">www.bv229.k12.ks.us</a>, but you have all seen an image that is hosted there.<br />
That image tag's source is set to "http://www.bv229.k12.ks.us/psms/images/happy%20face%20winking.gif", which means your browser has to request it from that site in order to display it.
