Active ingredients.

H2O2 and hexamethylene tetra amine, and citric acid is needed as a catalyst.

Instructions

From the mole weights above;

Using 9 % H2O2, you will need an eighth the mass hexi. Therefore, 96 grams of H2O2(solution) with 12g hexamine and 1.5 times the hexamine of catalyst (18g citric acid powder) will work well. (HCL can be used as it is the H+ ions that are released but citric acid will give a much higher yield.)

Make a salted ice bath and put H2O2 in fridge for half an hour.

Put H2O2 in a clean Jam jar at 5 degrees c and sit in ice bath, the H2O2 will start to cool down.

Start to add the Hexi slowly and in small bits into the jam jar. The hexi will dissolve nicely at room temp but can be difficult to dissolve in the cold so be patient.

Stir for one hour.

Make sure the mix is well dissolved and kept below 1 degrees c before moving on.

Add the 18g of citric acid slowly and in small amounts (very important).

Once all of this has dissolved, keep it at 0 to -1 degrees c for three hours.

Take the Jam jar and cover it with a plastic bag, put the plastic covered Jam jar into the fridge for 24 - 72 hours.

After its been in the fridge for a day or two you will find that an insoluble white gunge has precipitated in the Jam jar (that's your shit, but you cant just get it and set it off or you'll lose a hand) This precipitate must be filtered.

Make a filter using a coffee filter and a yoghurt pot (put on latex gloves from now on) pour the gunk into the filter and let it drain into the sink. This will leave you with a blue white paste.

Now dissolve 6 grams of bicarb in 300ml of cold water (use bicarb from a chemist).

Put all the paste and the filter paper into the solution, it will fizz a little and produce sodium citrate and CO2.

In the bicarb solution you have got all sorts in there but floating around will be crystals of pure HMTD.

Filter the solution and extract the crystals and add a small amount of cold water.

Put the filter paper (along with crystals) on a newspaper and allow to dry in a cool place.

Take the powder that is left the next morning and put it in a film pot in the fridge.
