Soul Society..what?

Soul Society still has some issues i would like explained

1. Spiritual tuberculoses (sp) what Ukiatake has.
2. Why soul society has a class system. (I mean if your aren't born from parents into soul society its difficult to have a class system)

I guess class is based on amount of spirit power. I remember in one episode, someone said that the four noble houses had more spirit power than anyone else.

Dont forget that the Technology department dose experiments. An "Illness" is possible if an experiment had failed. And they never say what his problem is, just that he is sick.
Another possibility is he suffers a kind of "tainted spirit" kind of like tainted blood. It'll probably be explained later on.

The class system is based off amount of spirit energy. The strongest have the power. Buyakua is the strongest, and also, from the highest noble family.

That is just what they call the 4 families with the highest spirit power.

Also note. Since most people cant find their original families from the real world, they are just a collection of adopted people, making up the family.
