Can't login, stuck at pre-login light blue screen.

Third paragraph for a long story short.

So I was playing some BF2 right, and my faggot friend decides to press the power button on my PC, which either puts it into hibernation or standby, I don't remember. So now after completing the process of either one, I press the power button again to take it out of standby/hibernation.

My computer's a piece of crap, so I figure it just added a bunch more stress to the pain in the ass that BF2 already is. Basically, it froze, and I just pulled the plug out.

So I started up the computer, and it boots up normally until the Windows XP login screen. It's just stuck at a blank, baby blue screen with the hourglass cursor.

I've also tried safe mode, same shit happens. wttfff

I would run Fixboot and Fixmbr.

Run CHKDSK /R also. This might take a few hours to run.

RESOLUTION
Ignore the error message described in the "Symptoms" section of this article. The fixmbr command can safely rewrite the MBR.

try booting up off a winternals live cd and repair your installation with the repair tool...that worked for me.
