I've heard the same thing a million times and I'm be dammed if there is not some truth behind it. Lots of people can do it and half the people that do don't even have high school diplomas. If you can open a cook book read it and figure out how to bake a cake you can read shit here and figure out how to make meth. IT TAKES ZERO KNOWLEDGE OF CHEMISTRY. You dipshit, there are about a million ways to get to a desired product, anny and Li are NOT the only way. Ever heard of LiAlH4 reduction in tetrahydrofuran? MUCH simpler, cheaper, easier, and SAFER to do than just about any other route. Safer as in, no cops. Everything is OTC. If you have a distillation kit, you can make dope until you fucking OD, provided you have pill sources. Or some kind of ephedrine. Grow your own. There's about a million ways to MAKE your own ephedrine.

And yeah, KNOWING the chemistry IS better, because if something fucks up, you know how to fix it, and what to do, and proper safety procedures that go along with using whatever chemicals, whether it be anny, or HI acid, or LiAlH4, or one of the COUNTLESS other ways to get there.

Any body can learn to make any chemical, there are syths all over the web for any really interesting chemical you can think of. People with actual knowledge of chemistry are better suited to improvising, or recognizing the potential of some common material, or when something goes wrong being able to salvage something. Don't dis' the meth cooks when you're just following recipes also.
