Calling God 'Him'

Here is something interesting to ask a Christian, especially a woman.

Why call God 'Him'?

He isn't male, the ruler of the universe does not have a sex.

And if he doesn't have a sex, why call him by a male name? Why not call God "Her"?
Is it because Christianity and a slew of other religions have a history of degrading women, denying them rights, and making them second class?

God is a male for the same reason the earth is female; the life that emerges from the earth does so by virtue of being impregnated by rain and sunlight from the sky.

If you refer to your deity as a "god" than it is a him. It is a masculine name. If you refer to your deity as a "goddess" then it is a her. That is a feminine name.

Not everythings about fucking gender! Sometimes its just how the language works.

A woman from, say, Mexico, is properly called a "latina." If she is feisty, tough and so on, she isn't "macho," but "macha."

Back to topic--God is infinite, but the Abrahamic religions are patriarchial, hence oppressive to women.
