I want to sign up at Church to get free parking

Ok so there is church that is pretty close to the university I go to. There is this sign in the church parking lot (a big lot, might I add) that says you can only park there with a church permit. So therefore, I was thinking about signing up at the church so I can get free parking.

I know nothing about going to church, nor am I christian. Should I just go walk into the office and say "I want to start going to church, may I have a pass"? I forgot the type of christian church they are (all seem same to me). What other questions do you think they will ask me before I can get my pass? Is there some sort of paperwork that will be requested proving I am a christian? Or can I just bullshit and say I am christian? Btw...I am not actually going to show up for church on sundays...I only want to park there.

Well I get free parking at the train station, but the catch is I have to wake up at 530 every morning. I was also considering faking some parking tickets, but that didnt work out so well irl. Trust me, this church has good parking, and its really close. Even has electrical outlets for my block heater!

They wont ask you any questions. Just say you never went to church before and you think its a good idea to start. The worse that could happen is they notice your car there all day every day for a month without ever seeing you go to church, so they put a notice on your dash saying your permit has been revoked.

Being a churchgoer this is what you should do.
Go to the church office and tell them that you want to become a parishoner. If they ask why say being in college you think it would be a good influence to go to church. You should go at least once a month so they see your face and get to know you. And come on it's only an hour a week, you could bring a book and get some studying done.

Whats 5char? People use it all the time on totse.

The one thing that sucks about christians is that they are probably gonna be so nice to me, and I may eventually feel bad for taking advantage of them. I wonder if random people will come up to me and start trying to make conversation and get to know me. What is a parishoner and is it required to dress nicely to go to church (like in the simpsons)?

Depends on the church. Some churches will ask that you greet the people around you before mass. But honestly, don't worry about it. If it's a big church, you can just stand at the back and not talk to anyone.

A parishoner is just a churchgoer. Just dress semi-formally for church. If you're super lazy, just don't wear a shirt with words on it.

5char is used on totse because you need 5 characters in a post. Unless you're cool and can make less than 5 characters.

The church's/religious groups near my campus charge $45+ a semester for parking, but it is really close. They might want money more than membership, likely both.
