Freedom Philosophy...and It's Fools

by Eric Schwabe

"They said, 'You know, this issue doesn't seem to resonate with the people.' And I said, you know something? whether it resonates or not doesn't matter to me, because I stand for doing what's the right thing, and what the right thing is is hearing the voices of the people" ~~President George W. Bush/Portland Oregon.

By definition, resonate means 'to evoke a shared feeling of emotion or belief. A proud country lead by but a child of understanding, who claims he believe in the wrong. With those words Resident Bush unknowingly reveals another brutal example of how the essence of freedom exists within the mind because true freedom does not, and cannot exist.

To understand this mystified concept of freedom one must look at its simple core. Freedom is the exemption from external control, interference, regulation, et cetera. Blaming this lack of freedom upon the state would be futile for while factions form social contracts by trading in liberties for safeties they gain new freedom. While under law one must obey the limits of driving speed in fear of penalty, under lawlessness a renegade may, and eventually will, destroy all ones freedoms through force. With the two extremes neither creates true freedom, but only varying levels of it.

In history governments imposed different restriction that both limit and extend their peoples freedom. The Roman Catholic Church banned the ownership of crossbows they abolished their followers freedom to protect their house and home while English revolutionary leaders set up an America with the separation of Church and State, granting individuals the right to worship who they choose. As the ruling head enforces laws that fall narrowly under the categories of protection against force, theft, fraud, and the enforcement of contracts they limit others from infringing on ones freedom, and therefore extend the freedom of all.

Today people claim to be free, from being brainwashed into comparing their liberties to those struggling for survival confuse partial freedom with an absolute. In such loud exclamations of their freedom some have entertained the violence of forces who have lost site of their goal, their own freedom. In originally seeking to extend themselves they tampered with others so as to surpass them, but by being consumed by their hateful competition they have ceased their progression, focusing solely upon their enemies regression. And as these 'evil doers' work fear into hearts, a would-be tyrant at the opposing reigns usurps freedom from his people in the name of the freedom itself, writing legislation to ignore a citizens own constitution if they can fall under HIS category of a so call 'terrorist'. Bush sets his defacement of the nation in movement. In his own speech broadcasting that an existence of a shared believe with his people does not matter to him.

Absolute freedom is a dream of utopia, for in society one must take charge and impose limitations to keep social anarchy from erupting. Freedom cannot exist because the complete lack of external interference in a community is impossible. By forming a social contract one will expand on some while limiting other liberties. Today people confusing their partial freedom with an absolute absorb the misdirected efforts of other in the form of violence. Yet even these threats do not disrupt their struggle for normalcy as the people deny the truth, being the consumers they are, return to the propaganda they have know since birth.

"The right thing is is hearing the voices of the people" In his stuttering the leader of millions reveals either his ignorance or his malicious intentions, but then, which will cause more harm? But be it accident or intent Bush shall lower the levels of freedom with or without the help of...evil doers.

Ignorance isn't bliss
For the benefits of enlightenment you will miss
What an amazing right to an education
Truancy fines only number in hundreds on second offense
A healthy ignorance of our constitution
To arm your home is becoming the crime called defense
Forget your privacy because the Carnivore knows all
Bush won't let us know that the 'evil doers' are are are already winning
For it has been decreed that to speak against the would-be tyrant in 'this time'
Is now considered to be worse than sinning
If we were to rise up in riot and protest
We may fall into his new found category called 'terrorist'
And with that not a right
For against the midget man none may put up a fight
This...is our land of the west
