Governmental Age Restrictions

by Dead_Revolutionary

So I was talking to my friend today about age, because it was his birthday, and we we talking about how, for us, birthdays were no big thing, they're just another day. This got me to thinking about why we feel that they feel to us like regular days instead fo something special, and I finally figured it out. For starters, I can't see how one day is any more special than the rest. On a birthday, it may be the celebration of the first day you came into the world, but that particular day only signifies that you are one your older that that exact day 365 days ago. So why aren't the days before and after your birthday celebrated in the same fashion? On everyday past your first birthday, you are one year older than on that day the day before, so I feel that you shuld not treat any day more different than the rest. Now that my philosophy on birthdays is out of the the way, the single thing that pissed me off most was that the government uses our birthdays against us. They use our age to determine everything we do. The age we can drive at, when we're allowed to vote, when we're allowed to buy alcohol, adnd these are just examples. There's also places that we're not allowed to go in because we're too old or young. It's insane that they use our personal celebrations of life against us to set limitations on our lives. I'm 16 and i can't vote, I can't go into a bar, and insurance on my car would be higher than that of someone "older" than me, someone over the age of 21. Now, I don't believe that one day should be set aside for celebration of your life, I think life should be celebrated everyday equally (thus my distaste for the significance of birthdays), so I dont' see where the government gets off telling me that they see it fit that there are things that I can and can't do based on my age. And the wost thing about this is that time is a relative concept! They're basing my perameters in their deceptive society that they've constructed based upon something that doesn't even exist. Am I the only one that feels this way? Am I the only one that feels that it's absurd to base a person's life on something that doesn't exist and then tell them that it's for their own good? Then, they have the audacity to call this "the land of the free". How can this be the land of the free if your life is restricted until you're 21, and you can't claim legal guardianship of yourself until you're 18? The only way to see the truth in this country is to read between the lines but if you vice the truth, it's unpatriotic on rebellious, or traitorous, but who betreyed who?, us who seak to speak the truth of their deception, or them, who try to make us follow their dishonesty and tell us it's for our own good.........
